See this timeline for Kevin Pereira, my friend and partner-in-crime in a handful of successful businesses…
2009: So Kevin left Chico state where he was studying business because (and I quote) … “It was a joke βI didn’t learn shit!” He decided to get into real estate and said,
“What the heck, I’ll figure it out!”
=
2010: Kevin got into selling real estate brokerage but did not like it. He came across one of my case studies about starting local agency businesses and was like, “I could do this! I don’t know a thing about the space but (you guessed it) …
“What the heck, I’ll figure it out! “
=
2012-2014: Randomly, this dude finds me β I didn’t know him from Adam. We talked on chatted online almost daily as he got his business going. He crushed it, and quickly grew it to $40,000 per month.
=
2014: So he sells the business and was like dang, I’d love to move down to Costa Rica and travel around Peru for a bit. I don’t know a single person there “but what the heck I’ll figure it out!” Here he is, in Peru at 13,000 feet:
=
2015: I was like dude, wanna collaborate with me on this business idea? I don’t know anything about the space, but I bet we could make it happen. Kevin: “I don’t know a thing either but what the heck, we could figure it out!” We got together and we grew the business to seven figures. Here we are at my place, getting shipping organized:
=
2017: Next, got inspired to get into the travel space. Neither of us knew anything about the industry. Kevin moved in with me again. We hit some trouble spots but got past six figures in revenue β we both still figure “what the heck, we’ll figure it out!”
2018: Me: Dude, on our trip to South Africa, Stephanie Maisonneuve broke her leg. I’m stuck here, and she’s gonna need some help. Kevin: “Don’t worry about it β I’m on it. Never been to Africa, no idea if my passport is up to date, but what the heck I’ll figure it out.” Few days later, Kevin arrives in South Africa:
(Later on is) 2018: Kevin comes up with the brilliant idea to start a tech development firm. “I can’t write a single line of code but I know I can build a team and make this happen.” “What the heck, I’ll figure it out!” First year in business:

And that brings me to the most incredible photo on my phone!
This was his mission the whole time.
Living in the mountains.
With rivers to fish in. And snow.
With bear skin rugs.
And fires.
And spectacular views.
And serenity.
And after five years of hustle and hard work, that’s exactly what Kevin did. Moved up in Bear Mountain and is living exactly the life he envisioned for himself.
Shoveling snow. Flying planes when the weather cooperates:
I know, you’re saying “Get to the point, Rohan β you long-winded cat!”
=
Ok here goes:
At every turn, Kevin’s attitude isn’t, “well I couldn’t do that!” or “this isn’t my area of expertise.”
Or, “I can think of a million reasons this won’t work.”
His attitude was, and still always is, “What the heck, I’ll figure it out!”
And those are the people who succeed!
You can’t hit the shot from the sideline.
And the primary thing that separates people from hitting the shot is the willingness to take the shot in the first place.
And to keep shooting, and improving, til you win!
Having that disposition changed Kevin’s entire life.
I still laugh at him when he sends me pictures like this lol:
But, there are few people who I know that are living life exactly as they want to live it!
No, it’s definitely not easy. Plenty of things won’t work out and it won’t be a straight line, but if there’s something you want to get cracking with…
Get cracking with it.
Shooters, shoot!
And, of course, if you need website work or tech work, Kevin is your guy: https://nerdpilots.com/
And if he doesn’t know how to do it, “what the heck he’ll…”
You already know!
Congrats on the dope spot, dude. I can’t wait to be dropping mad popcorn all on that rug when the weather warms up!
And that’s why this is the favorite photo in my phone…
