Okay. So this is probably going to be a lengthy and mundane ride so let’s cut to the chase.
[Disclaimer: I do actually like humans.]
But… not enough to want to spend lots of time with humans I don’t know.
As a result, every business I’ve built has been one that I could do from home.
In other words: If I can’t do it from the comfort of my own home, it ain’t happening.

In this post, I’ll share with you how I configured my life up to separate making money from leaving my house. Ready?

Pro tip: the key is finding something to sell. And selling it. And repeating that process. So what can you sell? Here are some ideas based on what I KNOW works:
OPTION ONE: CREATE A LOCAL SERVICE BUSINESS
Cleaning, landscaping, home repair… any service that requires going to someone’s home to do something.
“But Ro, you said, work from home, what’s this ish?”
Well you have to rework this in your brain.
In reality, businesses are now being constructed entirely online, to the extent that you can even purchase home services directly on platforms like Amazon. Jeff Bezos isn’t showing up at your home personally if you order landscaping services on Amazon. And I neither am I if you order home services from me!
In the era of the internet, we’re fortunate to witness a time where online income revolves around connecting with someone who is looking to make a purchase, finding someone that wants to sell that thing, and getting in the middle of the transaction.
And that, dear friends, you can do without ever leaving your laptop.

OPTION TWO: START A PRODUCT COMPANY
Sell an actual thing. A product you can hold in your hands. While I’m not as passionate about products because of the increased financial risk, people are willing to allow you to sell their items if you can present an awesome brand that makes them eager to be associated with you.

OPTION THREE: START A GROUP TRAVEL COMPANY
Multi-billion dollar travel industry and there are now so many folks organizing group trips all over the world. Every part of the globe. And there’s money to be made.
And you can do everything right from your home.

OPTION FOUR: BUILD A WRITING COMPANY
Businesses require content—it’s the currency of the internet. Case studies, blogs, articles, social media posts, even comments on articles.

OPTION FIVE: DEVELOP AN APP
So this is more achievable than you might initially think. I can’t write a single line of code but I’ve still built more apps than I can count.

OPTION SIX: PLATFORM ARBITRAGE

OPTION SEVEN: START A DMV CONVENIENCE COMPANY
So, like everyone else, I had to update my registration when I moved. Was I going to go and sit in that DMV hall for three long hours only to find out that I’m missing [insert some junk that they don’t mention ANYWHERE that now requires me to come back and sit for three more long hours]?
Absolutely not!
So I found this company: http://www.carregistrationlasvegas.com/
Looks like a big company, right?
Nope. It’s just one woman, Sarah, working from her living room, and she takes care of your DMV registration for you. She has runners that come to your house pick up your documents, registers your car, and drops off your tag the next day. Jaw. Dropping. Service.
I’m confident that this is something that can be accomplished in city after city across the country!

OPTION EIGHT: START AN INSTALLATION SERVICE
Identify a major company selling a popular product and provide “installation services” for that product. For example: Ring doorbell installation or Ikea furniture assembly.
This is something that takes a little bit of SEO online and consistent posting on the right platform about your services. You’ll also need team of trustworthy people to go out and do the work.
Think of this as a different version of option 6.

OPTION NINE: INSERT A BILLION EXCUSES AND BE IN THE SAME SPOT A YEAR FROM NOW!
1) Oh I would but I have a full time job.
Well so did and still did $200k first year
2) Oh I would but I’m still in school.
I could go through a massive list of people who started their businesses while in school (some that did so well they made it their full time gig). But you probably already know some of them.
3) Generic “my life is too difficult” catch-all.
Understood. But honestly, it’s not getting easier unless you do something about it!

So that about sums it up.
None of this is rocket science but every one of these opportunities is an idea that can make you millions of dollars over the next few years if you take the next steps.
***At least three of these companies have made seven figures for me and I’m just some random dude that figured this all out as I went!***
You can’t lead a life where your ability to keep a roof over your head is contingent on someone else smiling favorably upon you. I mean you could try that, but personally, that approach feels riskier to me than taking a chance on having at least one alternative source of revenue.

Oh, and my buddy Kevin just sent me a photo of his life in the mountains. This dude likes living in the mountains with snow and stuff so that’s what he does.
Who wants to live in the mountains? I have no idea. But that is the beauty of solving this. You do what you want, when you want, where you want!
That kind of freedom is what you can achieve from taking a leap of faith.
So, that’s the point here. A wonderful life of introversion (if you want) or straight extroversion (where you go wherever you want whenever you want for as long as you want).
And it just takes one or two years of going all in to make one of these work and to have total freedom after that! It might be the hardest thing you’ll ever do, but isn’t a year or two of absolute insanity in exchange for freedom for the rest of your life worth it?.
After that (if you’re like me) you can just chill at home rewatching Bird Box (and maybe be inspired by her courage) as Girl delivers what is legitimately one of the most gangster three words ever uttered in a movie…
